We are doing some Spring Cleaning on the Overlook Trail. Volunteers have been pulling invasive thistle, repairing berms, and sweeping newly built steps. . . .we are almost “Ready for our Close Up!”
Opening Day is Sunday, April 28.

11:30 is a steward led hike on the NEW TRAIL!

Our Wednesday hikers had a beautiful, sunny hike this week. Come join us–8:30am every Wednesday morning. We meet at the Overlook Kiosk, hike through the cemetery, and then to the top! 
Now that it’s winter and we spend more time indoors, it is SO-o-o-o-o enjoyable to start the day with a hike on the Overlook Trail. Maybe a tad of cabin fever is being experienced here in Sonoma, because we had a BIG group of Happy Hikers show up today for our Wednesday morning hike. . . .Come join us any Wednesday at 8:30 for a Cabin Fever Cure.
PS. . . A HUGE thank you to Stewards Roy, Lynn, and Bill for getting the fallen tree on the trail removed PRONTO so that our hike was safe and unobstructed.
Roy Tennant, Overlook Steward, was awarded a gift for the enormous amount of hours he has spent,combatting invasive species including poison oak, and caring for the Trail. 
A huge thank you goes to our current chairperson, Joanna Kemper, who is stepping down after 8 years of leadership of the Stewards.
After the Stewards meeting on Tuesday we celebrated Joanna’s dedication to our beloved trail with a party.
Ezrah Chaaban, Chief of Staff to State Senator Bill Dodd presented Joanna a Senate Resolution Certificate thanking Joanna for her service on behalf of Senator Dodd.
We toasted her with bubbly and also presented her with a Hiker’s Notebook with photos and memories of her tireless leadership.
