I often say, “If you don’t control the water, you don’t control the trail.” So, although El Niño’s impact here remains uncertain, I’m preparing for a deluge. Thus far, the trail work we have done to control water has involved recovering at least a five percent outslope pitch or greater to make sure water sheets immediately off the trail; not eroding, just off.
We have no idea what El Niño will bring us this winter, but we’ve been doing everything we can to make sure we’re ready for it. With all of the rain predicted, some of our roads and highways are likely to be flooded, perhaps for days.
What can you do to protect your property? Try our solution: control the water and keep it draining away to protect your home.
